A Royal Air Force apresentou um Eurofighter Typhoon com pintura comemorativa para os 80 anos do Dia D, data a ser comemorada em 6 de junho de 2024. A aeronave será utilizada em shows aéreos diversos, com destaque para as celebrações do aniversário do desembarque dos aliados na Normandia, em 1944.
O esquema de pintura comemorativo remete a um Hawker Typhoon Mk1 do 257th Squadron, voado naquela data histórica pelo piloto Denzel Jenkins. Ainda naquele conflito, ele seria comandante da sua unidade aérea e receberia a Distinguished Flying Cross.

Os trabalhos de pintura deste Eurofighter Typhoon foram iniciados em outubro do ano passado, boa parte do tempo tendo sido dedicado ao planejamento, uma vez que o Hawker Typhoon de 1944 e o Eurofighter Typhoon de 2024 têm estruturas bem distintas. Também foram pensados detalhes, mais notadamente as listras brancas utilizadas pelas aeronaves participantes do Dia D.
O Eurofighter Typhoon, com matrícula ZJ913, chegou a ter vários componentes desmontados a fim de permitir a pintura. A aeronave faz parte do RAF Typhoon Display Team, tendo como casa a base aérea de Coningsby, de onde participará de shows aéreos em todo o Reino Unido.
